WASHINGTON – The Alliance for Patient Access (AfPA) issued the following statement today on President Donald Trump’s nomination of Scott Gottlieb, MD, for commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration.
STATEMENT FROM BRIAN KENNEDY, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, ALLIANCE FOR PATIENT ACCESS:
“Patients and health care providers alike would do well to have Dr. Scott Gottlieb at the helm of the Food and Drug Administration. Dr. Gottlieb’s experiences as a health care provider shape his unique perspective on the importance of safe, effective medications in the United States. Moreover, he has established a reputation for valuing patients’ access to these medications.
“We urge members of Congress to give thoughtful consideration to this nominee, whose insight and leadership would protect and further patient access in the years to come.”
